The Police Service Commission (PSC) has elevated 13 commissioners of police to the rank of assistant inspector-general of police (AIG).
In the same promotion exercise, 17 deputy commissioners of police (DCP) were upgraded to commissioners of police (CP), while 18 assistant commissioners of police moved up to deputy commissioners of police (DCP).
Also, 35 chief superintendents of police (CSPs) have been promoted to assistant commissioners of police (ACPs).
In a statement on Thursday, PSC spokesperson Torty Njoku Kalu said the officers were promoted “following their successful performance in the recently concluded written examinations and oral interviews”.
Kalu quoted PSC chairman Hashimu Salihu Argungu as congratulating the promoted officers, adding that the promotion gives them a chance “to contribute more to the force”.
