Tinubu Swears In Oyedele As State Finance Minister

President Bola Tinubu on Monday afternoon administered the oath of office to Mr. Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance at the State House, Abuja.

Oyedele’s appointment comes after a small cabinet reshuffle that moved the former Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning. This marks her third role in the Tinubu administration.

The short swearing-in took place at the President’s office on the first floor of the State House, officially making Oyedele a member of the Federal Executive Council (FEC). He is expected to help drive the government’s fiscal management and economic reform plans.

His new role is seen as a boost to the administration’s push for stronger fiscal reforms and better economic governance in Nigeria.

Before his nomination two weeks ago, 50-year-old Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms. The committee, set up by President Tinubu in 2024, was tasked with reviewing Nigeria’s tax system and fiscal policies.
