APC chieftain, Tony Okocha, has caused a stir after claiming that election results are sometimes pre-written and handed to electoral officials for announcement.
At a press briefing, Okocha said this was how things worked during his time, suggesting outcomes were decided before being officially declared by the commission.
“Elections could be written inside the chief of staff’s office. It was done so in my time; we did so. We write the result and hand it over to the commission; their business is to go and announce,” he admitted.
The video of Okocha making these comments has gone viral on X, raising fresh questions about INEC’s credibility and Nigeria’s electoral system, with many critics demanding explanation and possible probe.
