A Nigerian soldier, who chose to stay anonymous, has announced in a viral video that he is quitting the military. He accused senior officers of sending frontline troops into danger while avoiding the risk themselves.
In the video, he said commanders often order soldiers into deadly operations, leaving them exposed and demoralized.
“I am leaving the military. I think something is wrong somewhere. The high-ranking officers are sacrificing us,” he said.
He called the situation unacceptable, adding that many soldiers feel abandoned and frustrated by decisions from their leaders.
The soldier also questioned President Bola Tinubu’s silence over the killings of military personnel across Nigeria.
