Senate President Godswill Akpabio pulled a joke on Senator Adams Oshiomhole over a viral video showing the Edo North lawmaker giving a leg massage to a South African woman.
During Wednesday’s Senate plenary, Akpabio, without directing the question to anyone, asked, “Is somebody massaging Oshiomhole’s leg?”
The remark sparked loud laughter across the chamber, with most senators breaking into wide smiles.
Senator Oshiomhole, who had earlier participated actively in discussions on the Electoral Act amendment, had already left the plenary when the joke was made.
The controversial video shows Oshiomhole massaging a female content creator’s leg on a private jet, with social media users referring to her as a “sugar baby.”
The Edo lawmaker, however, has rejected the video’s authenticity, claiming it is artificially generated using AI technology.
