The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has advised a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Leke Abejide, to remain in his party, saying the presidency is pleased with his work.
Gbajabiamila made the remarks during Abejide’s 50th birthday celebration, where he spoke openly and encouraged him to stay put in the party he belongs to.
He said, “Hold on to your party. Don’t allow them. We like what you are doing, continue.
“Stay in ADC….. Do the right thing. Nobody will come and take your party from you. The party that you built. I know you to be a committed person, somebody who does not want to be cheated. A party that you built with your sweat.. no no. Good luck in court.”
Abejide, who represents Kogi State in the House of Representatives, is expected to face a leadership case on Wednesday involving the David Mark-led ADC.
The case is part of a wider dispute within the coalition party, with both Nafiu Gombe and Abejide challenging the leadership of the David Mark-led ADC in court over control of the party, which is also linked to opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Nafiu Gombe, from Gombe State, had earlier filed a suit against the Mark-led leadership, accusing them of allegedly taking over the party from him.
The internal legal battle continues as different stakeholders contest who has the rightful control of the ADC structure.
