German car maker Mercedes-Benz has reportedly lodged a complaint with the Italian Carabinieri against Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, accusing him of failing to complete payments for a leased vehicle.
Osimhen is regarded as one of the most dangerous goal scorers in world football. His career has taken him through Belgium, France, Italy, and now Turkey, where he continues to perform at a high level.
He is currently said to earn over €20 million per year at Galatasaray, a salary that matches his high-profile lifestyle.
Off the pitch, Osimhen is also known for generosity, often helping family, friends, and even strangers on social media.
Just last weekend, he reportedly sponsored Nigerian fans to travel to Istanbul for the derby against Fenerbahce, where he scored in a strong 3-0 win.
However, new reports suggest possible financial issues behind the scenes. According to Napolista, Mercedes-Benz has informed Italian authorities about an unpaid debt linked to Osimhen.
The company claims he did not complete payment for a car leased in 2023 and also failed to return the vehicle.
The alleged debt is said to be around €90,000 (about ₦142 million). This comes as a surprise, considering his weekly earnings have been far higher since his title-winning days in Naples.
Osimhen is also known for his taste for luxury cars and jewellery. He recently showed off his collection in a video, which included two Lamborghinis, a Rolls-Royce, and a Mercedes-Benz—the same brand now involved in the dispute.
So far, his representatives have not made any public statement. He is expected to address the matter quickly as he continues his career in Turkey.
