Six Health Workers Kidnapped in Ondo

At least six health workers were reportedly kidnapped in the middle of the night from a health centre in Oke Ijebu, Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers came around 2 a.m. in a bus and forced their way into the facility, which is located opposite Mega School.

The gunmen allegedly gathered all the staff on duty, including interns, and took them away in the waiting vehicle to an unknown location.

Patients who were at the centre during the attack were reportedly not harmed but were left visibly frightened by what happened.

Local residents described the incident as alarming and called on security agencies to act quickly to ensure the safe return of the abducted health workers and prevent similar attacks.
