Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has officially left the party and is set to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The move marks a major shake-up in Nigeria’s opposition politics as parties gear up for next year’s general elections.
In a personally signed statement yesterday, Kwankwaso announced his resignation from the NNPP with “immediate effect,” describing it as a “strategic realignment” in response to the changing political scene in the country.
He thanked the NNPP leadership, including the National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees (BOT), grassroots members across Nigeria, and supporters of the Kwankwasiyya Movement for their support over the years.
Kwankwaso is expected to officially join the ADC today, making it the fourth political party he has been part of since 1999.
