Popular Nigerian social media commentator, VeryDarkMan, has warned human rights activist Omoyele Sowore that he will send him to prison if he ever uses his image without permission.
The fiery warning came after Sowore spoke out against the remand of B-Lord, saying his detention was “not a victory” and cautioning against what he called the weaponisation of the law.
In a blunt reply that has gone viral online, VeryDarkMan made it clear that anyone, including Sowore, would face the same consequences for using his picture without consent.
“If dem born you well, use my picture without my consent… I will lock you up. Put am for billboard, I go send you go prison,” he declared.
This marks a significant escalation in their public clash, with VeryDarkMan framing the issue as a straightforward matter of personal rights and legal consequences, rather than activism or oppression.
The tension follows the Federal High Court’s decision to remand B-Lord in Kuje Prison for 26 days over alleged impersonation, identity theft, forgery, and breach of privacy linked to VeryDarkMan.
While Sowore had called for caution and even suggested his lawyer, Marshal D F Abubakar, step back from the case, saying justice should not become about punishment alone, VeryDarkMan’s latest statement shows he is ready to take the matter as far as the law allows.
