Nollywood actress Faithia Balogun’s team has moved fast to kill off viral death rumours that blew up on TikTok.
In a statement released by The Hype Agency on journalist and filmmaker Samuel Olatunji’s (Bigsam) Instagram on Sunday, July 12, 2026, management said Faithia — also known as Faithia Williams — is “alive, well, and in good spirits.” The agency called the reports “completely false,” saying there was no truth to claims she had died or was ill. They urged people to stop sharing the posts and warned that spreading the lies causes needless panic.
“Faithia Balogun is alive, hale, healthy, and in good spirits. There is no truth whatsoever to the rumours of her death or any illness,” the statement read.
Management also said it has begun legal action, calling the content defamatory and promising to hold the originator(s) to account. They appealed to media platforms to be careful before amplifying unverified stories and thanked those who reached out with genuine concern.
Social media reactions poured in. Actress Funke Etti wrote: “Jah Michael. God forbid my BP don go up. I swear God will punish that person lagbara olorun. Egbon more beautiful years on earth.”
