Toyin Abraham’s Message To Negative People Gets Fans Talking

Nollywood star Toyin Abraham sent a short and sharp message to the public on Twitter: “Never waste your energy trying to explain your value to people who only understand negativity”.

The remark follows a viral clip from the 70th birthday of Debola Lagos’ father, where Toyin kneeled to greet Shade and her husband. She called herself a true Omoluabi who will always value and uphold her culture.

An X user slammed the kneel as unnecessary and mere eye service. Toyin pushed back, saying she’s sad Nigerians are drifting from tradition and that kneeling is now seen as Abosi. She said she was raised to kneel for elders, that it’s who she is, and she will proudly pass it to the younger generation.

The criticism came shortly after another viral moment involving her greeting Olori Sekinat Elegushi on her knees at an event. Responding then, Toyin said she is a rare breed and not everyone would understand her.

The actress has also continued celebrating her career milestones. After reaching a billion naira at the box office, she thanked fans for supporting her through difficult times and promised more timeless movies with global standards. She also described herself as a prophet, saying her films are therapeutic and speak to people.
