Real Madrid manager, Álvaro Arbeloa, made history on Tuesday following his team’s 1-0 victory in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
The win came in Portugal as Real Madrid edged past Benfica, with Vinicius Junior netting the only goal of the game to secure a first-leg lead for the Spanish giants.
Stats from OptaJose show that under Arbeloa, Real Madrid have found the net (scored) in all nine matches he has managed across all competitions this season, scoring 23 goals in total.
This feat marks the best start for any Real Madrid manager since Manuel Pellegrini in the 2009/10 season, who scored in his first 10 games.
Real Madrid will return to LaLiga action this weekend when they face Osasuna.
