Tinubu Told to Resign With Immediate Effect as Insecurity Worsens

Olufemi Ajadi, an APM chieftain and the Oyo Central senatorial candidate for the 2027 general elections, has publicly told President Bola Tinubu to resign. Ajadi made the demand after the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, near Ogbomoso, saying the Tinubu-led federal government must take full responsibility for citizens’ safety.

In a statement on Sunday, May 31, Ajadi blamed a rising wave of kidnappings and violent crime across the southwest on failures in the nation’s security leadership. “Any president who cannot secure his citizens is not worth being president,” Ajadi declared.

He went further: “Resign honourably now, Mr President. The money gathered through the removal of fuel subsidy has not been effectively used to curb insecurity.”

Ajadi also backed recent remarks by Oyo governor Seyi Makinde, noting that governors are often called chief security officers but lack direct operational control over the military and other security agencies. He said that reality exposes a big weakness in Nigeria’s security architecture and underlines the need for stronger federal support.

He urged the Federal Government to boost security operations, improve intelligence, speed up emergency responses, and decentralise operations so local efforts get results. On the political front, Legit.ng earlier reported that Ajadi — described as a leading PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo — hosted members of the G-22 at his home, calling the meeting a key moment in his political journey.
