A heated debate has broken out among Nigerians on social media after a question about faith, marriage, and politics went viral online.
Many users across platforms are questioning whether it is right for a born-again Christian to marry a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The discussion has also drawn comments linking the conversation to the current state of the country under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, including issues of insecurity, kidnappings, terrorism, hunger, and poverty.
One of the posts that gained attention came from a Nigerian TikTok user identified as @onuohajames58, he wrote:
“I want to ask again: Is it right for a born-again Christian to get married to an APC MEMBER?”

The post generated mixed reactions from Nigerians, with many users sharing their views in the comment section.
One user, Oladele, commented:
“That is backsliding in faith”
Another user, Kelelvis, wrote:
“Light and darkness have no communication”
Several other commenters also compared the APC to darkness, arguing that darkness has no relationship with light.
However, not everyone agreed. Some commenters argued that political affiliation should not determine marriage decisions, insisting that politics and personal relationships are separate matters.
The discussion continues to attract attention online as Nigerians express different opinions on the controversial question.
