The manager of singer Simi has denied online claims that she and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are getting a divorce, calling the reports false.
Vincent, Simi’s manager, explained that the rumour which spread quickly on social media was based on a fake document claimed to be a divorce petition from Adekunle Gold.
The document, dated February 28, 2026, stated that the couple’s marriage had “irretrievably broken down” and accused each other of long-term emotional, financial, and professional control. It also requested the end of the marriage and joint custody of their child. Some online posts claimed the petition was filed at the High Court of Lagos State.
Speaking on the circulating document, Vincent pointed out clear signs it was fake, highlighting what he described as basic legal mistakes.
“It’s fake and fabricated. First, stage names are not tenable in any court of justice worldwide as indicated in the document. Even the suit number on the document is backdated to 2024 (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178),” he said.
The rumour picked up speed after old social media posts linked to Simi resurfaced, with some fans reading them as signs of marital issues. Adekunle Gold’s recent return to social media after a short break also added to speculation, as followers tried to interpret his posts.
Simi and Adekunle Gold first met as friends and collaborators, later dating for several years before marrying in January 2019. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Adejare, also called Deja, in 2020.
Earlier in 2026, the couple reportedly welcomed twins, news that excited their fans. Recently, they celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary and shared heartfelt tributes to each other online.
