Blessing CEO Lands in Bigger Trouble as EFCC Slams Fresh Multi-Million Fraud Charges

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday arraigned social media influencer and self-styled relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over a fresh alleged N13 million fraud case.

She appeared before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on a six-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and retaining proceeds amounting to N13 million.

The fresh charges came a day after the EFCC arraigned her before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja over an alleged N69.1 million fraud.

According to the EFCC, the N13 million charges followed petitions from individuals and groups, including the Nigeria Cancer Society. The petitioners claimed they donated money after seeing her social media posts in which she said she was battling Stage 4 breast cancer and needed financial support for treatment.

The agency said it was later discovered that she falsified documents presented to the public to support the cancer claim.

The earlier N69.1 million two-count charge accused her of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing. She was alleged to have collected N69.1 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited as five years’ rent for a property at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, even though the property allegedly does not belong to her.

Blessing CEO pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.

Justice Oshodi remanded her in EFCC custody and adjourned the case until July 16, 2026, for hearing of her bail application and commencement of trial.

Earlier, Justice Dipeolu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, granted her bail in a separate alleged N36 million fraud case filed by the EFCC. She was granted bail of ₦10 million with two sureties in like sum, subject to conditions set by the court.
