“Debidoo”: Davido Slam Tinubu Praise Singer Rarara for Criticising World Cup Outfit, He Fires Back

Singer Dauda Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara, and music star Davido traded words on social media this week in a heated exchange.

The clash began on June 16, 2026, when Rarara shared a video criticizing Davido’s customised jacket worn at the 2026 FIFA Countdown Concert, a global campaign calling for the release of abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State.

Rarara accused Davido of politicising insecurity, exposing Nigeria’s security challenges to an international audience, and attempting to embarrass President Bola Tinubu. He also called for an investigation into the singer, saying such conduct would not be tolerated in some countries.

Davido responded on X by making fun of Rarara’s pronunciation of his name. Rarara fired back with: “Kashiga taitayinka,” which means “Mind your own business”

Davido then replied with a sharp Hausa remark: “Da ace kana da ilimi da na tsaya nayi magana dakai. Ama komai baka sani ba, sakarai kawai,”

Hedlyne also reported that Nigeria’s Mexico ambassador-designate, Reno Omokri, had earlier joined the conversation after Davido insulted him on Instagram.

Reacting to the exchange, a commenter identified as Realusmaniyya wrote: “Davido is a legend He replied in a way that Rarara would understand. I’m teaching Hausa for free.”

Meanwhile, Davido also triggered debate online after revealing plans to invest in the Dangote Refinery and sharing the application form. The move divided fans, with some raising privacy concerns while others saw it as an inspiration.
