Nigerian hip-hop star Jude Abaga, widely known as M.I, has revealed who he thinks is the greatest Nigerian rapper ever.
In a recent episode of the Hip-hop To Afrobeats podcast, the 44-year-old named veteran rapper Mode 9 as the top Nigerian rap artist of all time.
M.I explained that Mode 9 will always be the most respected rapper in Nigeria, noting that he has inspired many other artists in the industry.
He also praised Mode 9 for his dedication to music, highlighting his major impact on Nigerian rap and calling him a “legend.”
“Mode 9 is always gonna be the most respected Nigerian rapper of all time because he is a rapper that when you found him, you didn’t need to visit anybody else to improve your craft,” M.I said.
