“The gods are angry,” Fayose Declares War Against Makinde, Vows to Teach Him Lessons

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has launched a fresh attack on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, saying he has already begun a political fight against him and will work against him in future elections.

Speaking on Channels Television, Fayose accused Makinde of destroying the PDP structure in the South-West and betraying party leaders.

“I’m a politician. A man who has the capacity can take the aircraft to land now. You understand? I have the capacity to tell my people,” Fayose said.

He added: “If you respect me, you get all the values and support of Fayose. If you disrespect me, you get the downside of Fayose.”

Fayose said his anger toward Makinde began when the governor allegedly took over his political structure.

“If you take a woman’s child away from her; you become the enemy of that woman immediately,” he said, adding, “I became a lion against Seyi Makinde when he messed up.”

The former governor warned: “And may I say to you again, in the coming of your election, we will work against him.”

According to Fayose, Makinde treated him unfairly despite his status as a former governor. “If you want to take my head, I will take your head,” he said.

When asked if he planned to “put fire in Makinde’s house,” Fayose replied, “Fire is already there. I have started.”

He also accused Makinde of taking land belonging to traditional deities, saying, “Makinde has taken the land of the Òrìṣà (gods). The gods are angry, and the gods will take the lands back from him.”

Fayose linked Makinde’s presidential ambition to his troubles, saying, “That was his undoing.”

Despite acknowledging Makinde’s popularity, he cautioned: “When they clap for you, don’t imagine it as victory.”

Asked if he was declaring war, Fayose responded, “I have no war.” On whether Makinde could defeat him politically, he said: “Time will tell.”
