The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has told church members to give kidnappers his phone number if they are ever abducted.
He gave the instruction during a church service while speaking about past cases involving members who were allegedly kidnapped.
A video of the sermon has now spread widely on social media.
While addressing the congregation, Oyedepo recalled an earlier incident involving one of the church’s pastors who was kidnapped. He said he stepped into the matter in what he described as a spiritual intervention.
“One time one of our pastor was carried by kidnappers, I said give him the phone. I said in 24 hours if you don’t check him out you are dead. The place was vibrating on a spot.”
He went on to tell members that he has strong confidence in his spiritual authority and urged them not to panic if they ever find themselves in such a situation.
“If anybody picks you, give them my number. If he is not cut down then I am not God sent. You carry the same force if you can only discover it. You need to discover what you carry.”
