Saleh Mamman, who served as Minister of Power during the administration of the late Muhammadu Buhari, has been sentenced to 75 years in prison after being found guilty in a case involving N33.8 billion linked to a power project.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had charged Mamman with money laundering and conspiracy, alleging the funds were diverted from projects intended for the Zungeru, Mambilla hydroelectric power developments.
The sentence follows a court decision that earlier rejected Mamman’s no-case submission and ordered him to open his defence, marking a significant turn in the proceedings.
