Nigerian Woman Dies After Jumping From Balcony During Police Raid

A 41-year-old Nigerian woman, identified as Stella Pius, has died after reportedly falling from the balcony of a fourth-floor apartment during a Delhi police drug operation in the Burari area of north Delhi.

Police say Stella was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead. The search was part of a wider narcotics probe that began after the arrest of a suspect, Frank Dashmond. His interrogation reportedly led officers to several locations. During follow-up searches, small quantities of suspected narcotics were seized from another foreign national before police moved to the Burari residence.

Inside a locked room in Stella’s apartment, investigators uncovered what appeared to be a clandestine methamphetamine manufacturing and storage facility. Authorities say they seized large amounts of chemicals and equipment — about 100 litres of chemicals, hydrochloric acid, hypophosphorous acid, laboratory beakers, weighing machines and other materials believed to be used in drug production. Police also recovered suspected white powder, granules, liquid substances and 192 grams of MDMA.

The probe is ongoing. Officials have launched further investigations to determine the full scope of the suspected operation and the roles of those connected to the premises. The recovered substances are expected to undergo forensic examination as the case progresses.
