Oyo South Senator Sarafadeen Alli has won the governorship primary election of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alli secured 578,143 votes to beat former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, who polled 19,193 votes, and another contender.
Adelabu had stepped down from his position as minister to seek the Oyo State governorship ticket.
Adelabu alleged the primary election was manipulated.
The former minister made the claim on Thursday while speaking with journalists after casting his vote at his ward.
Addressing reporters, Adelabu said, “I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards.
“Reports reaching me state that there are a lot of gross misconducts in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions.
“In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked.”
