Anne Hathaway has finally answered rumours she’d had a facelift after fans picked apart her recent look.
The 43-year-old kicked the chatter off in March when she posted an Instagram video showing a beauty trick from her hairstylist, Orlando Pita. In the clip, Pita revealed he creates two hidden braids near her temples to slightly lift the eye area whenever he styles her for red‑carpet events. But the video fuelled claims she’d gone under the knife.
In a new interview with ELLE Magazine, Hathaway said the speculation became too loud to ignore. She usually prefers not to respond to public comments about her appearance, but felt the conversation had become distracting. According to her, many people now assume their opinions are facts, even when they may not be accurate.
Hathaway wanted people to know she had not made any major medical decision, saying the change in her look was simply the result of “two braids.” She described facelift surgery as a serious medical decision, while making it clear she is not ruling it out in the future. The actress said she may still decide to have a facelift someday, but insisted her recent appearance was not the result of surgery.
Hathaway is also returning as journalist Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2. Reflecting on the role, she said returning after nearly 20 years felt emotional because the original 2006 movie helped shape her career. She added she was grateful to the people behind the first film and happy to come back as a healthier, more positive person.
