The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the indefinite suspension of the Office of the Leader of IPOB and the position of Director of Radio Biafra, both previously held by Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement, the Directorate said the decision is part of ongoing administrative and organisational changes within the separatist movement. It did not give detailed reasons for the suspension but said more information would be released at the appropriate time.
The move marks a major change within IPOB, as both positions have long been linked to Kanu, who remains a key figure in the movement.
Observers say the decision could affect the group’s leadership structure and future operations. The suspension will remain in place until further notice.
