Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Davido has revealed that his personal monthly expenses in Nigeria can be as high as $200,000 to $300,000 (approximately between N300 million and N400 million) not including major costs like his wife’s expenses, running his home, buying luxury cars or jewellery.
The Afrobeats star shared this during a live session on Davrel Twitch on Tuesday while talking about the difference between his spending in Nigeria and the United States.
Davido explained that he spends less money in the US because only he, his wife and their children live together there.
“I actually spend less in Yankee because I live with just me, my wife and my kids,” he said.
He added, “When I’m around, I spend a lot more. We are balling every day.”
When asked to estimate how much he spends every month, Davido said his personal expenses usually range between $200,000 and $300,000. He made it clear that the amount does not include his wife’s expenses, household costs, jewellery or cars.
“I can’t tell you how much, but I can tell you like 300. Normally, probably like 200 to 300.
“This is minus my wife and the house… that one is closed. Minus buying jewellery or buying car,” he said.
Davido also recently announced that he wants to establish a mental health therapy centre for former celebrities who have found it difficult to adjust after losing their fame and success.
Speaking about the plan, Davido said, “If there is one thing I could do, I would build a centre for people that have been popular and very successful before.”
