Nigerian DJ Florence Otedola, known as DJ Cuppy, has declared she “can’t marry a Nigerian.”
On a recent podcast she said exactly that and added the last man she dated was already asking when he could meet her father. Cuppy believes many suitors don’t truly like her but want to meet her famous dad. She also said her father “doesn’t even care who I marry; he just wants me to get married.”

She has spoken before about dating different kinds of men — from a bus driver to a guy who lives with his mum — and said her hunger for love once left her vulnerable and used. Late last year she lamented her single life at yet another charity gala, though she also admitted she loves parts of being single, like eating dinner alone and focusing on the food.
Since her failed engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor, Cuppy has kept fans updated on her love life — from a flirtatious church encounter to bragging about many suitors in her DMs (but none who can spell “Pomeranian”). She’s prayed for the right man, even mused about changing her type, and said she wants a husband who seeks God first.
