JUST IN: NDC Announces Who Will Be Its Presidential Candidate for 2027

The NDC has shut the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for its 2027 presidential primary — and insiders say only one person bought the presidential form: former Labour Party candidate and ex-Anambra governor Peter Obi.

With the presidential window closed, the party has given extra time to hopefuls for other offices. The screening will judge popularity among party members, local dynamics, competence, capacity and personal character, with affirmative action for women, young people and persons with disabilities. After closing the presidential sale, the NDC hinted at Obi as the consensus pick in a post on its X page: “Unopposed,”
