Kane Double Sends DR Congo Out Of World Cup

Harry Kane scored two second-half goals as England came from behind to beat DR Congo 2-1 in their 2026 World Cup round of 32 match at Atlanta Stadium.

The Bayern Munich striker kept up his fine form in North America, rescuing a rather sub‑par England after DR Congo’s early strike threatened a shock. The Leopards stunned the crowd in the seventh minute when Brian Cipenga’s low shot slipped past Jordan Pickford at his near post for 1-0 — DR Congo’s first ever knockout goal.

England’s comeback in the second half settled the nerves and sent the favourites through, but not before a moment that had everyone whispering about a major upset.
