Kebbi APC senator defects to ADC over primary crisis

Senator Garba Musa Maidoki of Kebbi South has jumped ship — leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Maidoki, who chairs the Senate Committee on Legislative Compliance and is vice‑chair of the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, said the move came after “unresolved internal wrangling” in the APC following the state’s recently concluded primaries.

Maidoki is among the lawmakers who were screened out of the APC primaries for the 2027 elections. The defection adds another twist to the post‑primary fallout in Kebbi.
