Suspected Lakurawa terrorists on Thursday killed two farmers and injured another in Baidi village, Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Sources in the area said the victims were working on their farms when the assailants struck at about 10 a.m. The attack left two dead and one wounded.
A resident, who requested anonymity for security reasons, said two of the farmers were initially attacked while working together. No further details were given.
It’s a grim reminder that violence is still stalking rural communities, where people simply trying to farm can become targets in an instant.
