A 48-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly luring a 13-year-old housegirl into his apartment and spending a night with her, the Adamawa State Police Command says.
Police say the man, who lives alone in Yolde Pate in Yola South Local Government Area, invited the girl into his home and spent the night sexually assaulting her.
State police spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje said the girl had earlier been declared missing by her master. Nguroje added that the master had been forced to report the girl as missing after intensive searches failed to find her.
The police spokesman assured that the man, whose name he gave as Adamu Mohammed, would be prosecuted after a full investigation.
