Videos from the burial of late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo have flooded social media, leaving fans in tears.
The 40‑year‑old, who died on May 11, 2026, after battling metastatic kidney cancer, was laid to rest today, June 18, in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State. His final rites followed a service of songs on June 10 and a wake‑keep on June 17.
Clips show his wife, Anwuli, carrying his portrait with female relatives in white beside her. Pallbearers in crisp white suits followed a white casket along a red carpet. Another video caught a woman reading scripture as the pastor preached. Friends and colleagues, including Ik Ogbonna, were visibly heartbroken.
The ceremony drew big names — Ini Edo, Obi Cubana, Omoni Oboli and Deyemi Okanlawon — as family, friends and fans said goodbye. Known for his vibrant personality and many films, Alexx’s passing has left a hole in the industry and among those who loved his kindness off‑screen.
Fans poured out their feelings online. One viewer even said her heart was beating really fast as the videos spread.
