Bandit boss Bello Turji says God handed his gang a victory after an attack that killed soldiers in Isa local government area.
According to reports, an improvised explosive device (IED) blew up a military vehicle carrying troops to Bargaja community. Two soldiers died and several others were injured. The strike happened between 12:30am and 3:00am on the early hours of Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Daily Trust says Turji appears in a video shared on Facebook, celebrating the outcome. He spoke openly, even joyful, after the raid. His words, uncut, were:
“We thank Allah for allowing us to witness this Saturday, June 20. After thanking Allah, in this country of ours, Nigeria, especially in some areas where we have been facing constant challenges.”
“God willing, Allah has granted us victory over those who have been rustling our livestock and killing our innocent brothers in some local government areas including Isa, Zamfara, Sokoto State, Sabon Birni and other local government areas around.”
“Allah granted us victory over these people carrying out operations against us and taking away our livestock. We have succeeded in killing some of them, and we have successfully recovered our livestock from their hands.”
Elsewhere, Kebbi police killed a suspected kidnap kingpin in Bagudo LGA, rescued an abducted resident and arrested another suspect; investigators say the gang had eight members and firearms were found. In Zamfara, Operation Fansan Yanma troops reportedly killed several bandits — including Ado Alero’s son — during an April 4, 2026 operation. The military Facebook page later claimed at least 65 terrorists were neutralised.
