Barcelona have ruled out a move for Victor Osimhen. According to Diario SPORT, intermediaries offered the Galatasaray striker to the Catalan giants, but Barça showed no interest.
The club’s recruitment team, led by Deco and Bojan Krkic, have already made it clear that Osimhen is not part of their plans. While they respect his quality, their main target remains Julián Álvarez. Reports in Spain say Barcelona believe a deal for Álvarez is possible and are prepared to keep working on it despite interest from Atlético Madrid.
Osimhen, 27, enjoyed a strong season with Galatasaray, scoring 22 goals and providing six assists in 33 matches, according to FotMob. He joined the Turkish side after Galatasaray activated a €75 million deal with Napoli on July 31, 2025. Transfermarkt still values him at €75 million. However, Barcelona remain focused on squad balance and tactical needs. Earlier reports by Legit.ng suggested any club interested in Osimhen could face a total package worth up to €140 million.
There is also uncertainty around his international involvement. Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle confirmed Osimhen will miss upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal because of doubts over his club future.
“We will miss two players because Victor Osimhen, he had maybe to change a club, so I prefer that he stays, because if you play and you are not at hundred percent, this is not good,” Chelle said.
Osimhen later revealed on Instagram that he had spoken with the coach, but questions about his next move remain unanswered.
