Skales Breaks Down Music vs Football Money, Reveals Which Pays More

Nigerian singer Skales has said that footballers earn more money than musicians, pointing to the structured nature of football and the uncertainty of the music industry.

Speaking in an interview on The Groovy Mono Show, he said “Footballers earn more money than musicians.”

He explained that football offers a steady flow of income even for players who are not widely known.

“As long as you are an active footballer and you’re playing, you’re earning salaries and bonuses. You don’t have to be the most popular player in the world,”

He contrasted this with music, which he described as highly competitive and uncertain.

“Music is very competitive and unpredictable. You can be here today and gone tomorrow,”

He added that staying relevant in the music world is often difficult to control.

“Staying relevant in the music industry sometimes feels like something you can’t fully control,”he added.

Skales also shared a personal experience where he missed a jewellery deal worth over $300,000 linked to a footballer.

“I once lost a jewellery deal worth over $300,000 because it was linked to a footballer,’ he said.

He pointed out that footballers enjoy endorsement deals even when they are not globally famous.

“Footballers get endorsement deals even if they’re not globally famous,”he explained.

According to him, only a few musicians achieve major financial success, while many struggle with steady income.

“Only a few artists make a lot of money, but many are struggling to earn consistently,” he said.

He concluded that football offers a more stable financial path for professionals compared to music.

“Football gives you a more reliable path to financial stability if you make it professionally,” Skales stated.
