Omoyele Sowore has stepped into the DJ Chicken drama — and he didn’t come quietly.
In an X post, the activist offered to help secure the release of the entertainer, asking anyone with access to DJ Chicken’s family to contact him. Sowore called the charges “excessive” and unjust. “I want to help get DJ Chicken out of prison because I do not believe he deserves to spend a day behind bars; he is entitled to his liberty under the law,” he wrote.
DJ Chicken was arrested after online remarks aimed at Seyi Tinubu and his father, President Bola Tinubu. Sowore went further, accusing Seyi of sending young women on private jets to Abuja for what he called “drug-fuelled parties” — and said Seyi, not DJ Chicken, should face consequences. “It is Seyi Tinubu who ships young ladies on private jets to Abuja, who are drugged in bedroom-crazed parties in Abuja, who needs to be in prison,” he wrote, closing the post with “Revolution now.”
Sowore also framed the case as part of a wider pattern by the Tinubu administration, claiming it uses prosecutorial power against young Nigerians instead of creating opportunities. The post split opinion online. Some reactions included:
