Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma on Saturday said he is sure President Bola Tinubu will win a second term in 2027 — and comfortably, if APC members back him.
Mr Tinubu is set to receive the certificate of return and the APC flag as the party’s 2027 presidential candidate in Abuja on Sunday, after the nationwide collation of the primary results.
Uzodimma made the comments at a busy APC presidential primary in Orlu East Local Government Area of Imo State, where he pointed to the turnout as proof of support.
“You can see 35,000 human beings in just one ward in Orlu East Local Government.
“It means that if only our party members vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has already won the election.”
He said the party’s membership drive showed grassroots inclusion: “took care of grassroots inclusiveness, and today it is manifesting in our democratic situation in Nigeria.”
Uzodimma added that Tinubu had done enough to deserve another term.
“Look at what is happening in the grassroots, how the grassroots has been stimulated, starting from the membership registration, which was done electronically, to the validation of members,” the governor said.
He also praised the president for “doing politics the way it should be done,” urged the opposition to up their game and noted: “When it becomes their turn, they will elect their own president. But today, I can see that Nigerians are excited.”
