VIDEO: Oyo Govt Demolishes Building Used By Adelabu Family’s Kidnappers

The Oyo State Government has pulled down a three-bedroom bungalow in Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road axis of Ibadan. The building was allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers linked to the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, and her children.

The demolition took place on Monday. It was carried out by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, alongside operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

Authorities said the team visited the site as part of the state government’s ongoing drive to fight kidnapping and other crimes across Oyo State.

The victims, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped at Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The state government said the demolition shows its commitment to tackling insecurity and breaking up criminal networks operating in the state.

It also restated its determination to ensure that people involved in criminal acts, as well as places used to support such crimes, are identified and handled according to the law.
