BREAKING: Gunmen Kill 3 Police Officers In Kwara Community

Fear has once again gripped Tenibo community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State after terrorists launched another deadly attack, killing three mobile police officers.

This fresh assault comes just 11 days after a similar tragedy in Kemanji community, where three soldiers lost their lives following a gun battle that lasted over two hours.

The latest incident has thrown Tenibo and nearby communities into chaos. Residents, shaken by the repeated violence, are now packing up and fleeing their homes in search of safer places.

Sources said the attack happened in the early hours of Saturday, around midnight. The gunmen reportedly emerged quietly from the forest, stormed a security base, and opened fire, killing the three officers on the spot.

By morning, local insiders revealed that the attackers had overpowered the security base and slipped back into the forest without being caught.

A staff member of Kaiama Local Government, who asked not to be named, also confirmed the incident.

Speaking on the situation, a local resident who did not want his name in print called on the government to take urgent action, especially by clearing the nearby forest where the attackers are believed to be hiding.

“The thick forest where the terrorists are hiding is just about a kilometre from the community, so it makes it easy for them to come out, attack the security people and return to the thick forest.

”I know the place is very big, but the government can afford to clear the whole place, chase away the terrorists and encourage residents to farm there. This would largely stop the killings.

“Government can’t just be looking while terrorists are killing soldiers and our police like chickens; they’re also human beings like us. Something must be done urgently,” he said.

Chairman of Kaiama Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Danladi, also confirmed the attack.

“Yes, the development again happened this morning, the terrorists killed three of our mobile police officers.

“The local government is trying its best, we are evolving a synergy with the state and federal governments to stop this kind of unfortunate development. It’s not something we can do alone,” he said.
