Dr. Chris Okafor: DNA Test Showed Two of Four Children I Raised Were Not Mine

Dr. Chris Okafor, General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, has revealed that a DNA test showed two of the four children he raised were not biologically his. Speaking with THISDAY, Okafor said he kept the matter private for years to protect the children. He said, “How do you think I will feel when a DNA test I conducted, which I decided to keep to myself for years, shows that two among the four children are not your own? That is the wound I have borne for many years.”

Okafor, who has faced allegations of molesting women, including claims involving his daughters, denied all accusations. He told THISDAY that the allegations surfaced only after he decided to remarry, 14 years after his divorce. He questioned, “How come I wasn’t accused of molesting anyone for 14 years, until I decided to remarry? That is what everybody should be asking.”

He explained that during his divorce, the court granted him custody of all four children under strict supervision, showing that the legal system trusted him. Okafor said his ex-wife attempted to use the children to attack him publicly, but he maintained his innocence. “One of my daughters sent me a message earlier that if I did not give them the money, she would go to social media. I have the message on my phone. It was then I asked her to go and meet her mother to ask her who her real father is,” he said.

Okafor also addressed claims about his present wife, saying reports that he was forced to marry her were false. “To say I raped her and her parents compelled me to marry her shows the level of desperation,” he told THISDAY.

Reflecting on his personal life, Okafor spoke about his early years, spiritual calling, and upbringing in Benin City. Born as Ihechukwu, meaning “light of God,” he said he displayed prophetic gifts from age seven. Despite growing up in a humble home with 13 family members sharing one room, he became the first graduate in his family.

He also addressed social media criticism and pressures from women, explaining that prayer, focus, and discipline have helped him maintain integrity. Okafor said, “With the help of God, I have always known how to build deliberate structures around myself… The last thing you will want to do is to bring the name of God to disrepute.”

Beyond controversies, Okafor highlighted his humanitarian work through the Chris Okafor Humanity Foundation, which supports over 600 students on scholarships, empowers widows and the less privileged, and sponsors Nigerians abroad. He said, “God has used us to change lives here in Nigeria and all over the world.”
