BREAKING: FG Unveils Fabric To Replace NYSC Khaki Uniform

The Federal Government has announced plans to replace the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) traditional khaki uniform with Adire fabric as part of ongoing reforms.

Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, made the announcement on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television’s ‘The Morning Brief’.

He said the move is part of the government’s wider plan to support local production and make sure public funds help grow Nigeria’s economy.

According to the minister, the new uniform will be made in Nigeria, adding that Adire is already produced in many parts of the country.

“It’s Adire. So, Adire is being produced in Nigeria. We have them in Ogun, we have them in Kwara, we have textile industry. Let’s put our money back into the country,” he said.

Olawande said the plan will support local industries, especially Nigeria’s textile sector, while creating more demand for locally made products through government patronage.

He also revealed that the Federal Government is changing the NYSC posting system so corps members will be posted based on their professional backgrounds and fields of study.
