Female Doctor Warns Women About 5 Habits That Cause Kidney Failure

A video circulating on social media shows a female doctor speaking directly to women about behaviors that can lead to kidney failure. In the clip, she outlines certain habits to avoid in order to protect kidney health.

In a video posted on her official Instagram page, @says_stephanie, she told women that anyone hoping to avoid kidney damage before 40 needed to drop certain habits fast.

One major issue, she said, is self-medication. She warned against taking drugs for minor sicknesses without a doctor’s advice and questioned why people keep treating themselves without proper guidance.

She also pointed to poor water intake, saying long-term dehydration forces the kidneys to hold onto toxins. Instead of soft drinks or energy drinks, she urged people to drink more plain water.

Highly processed foods were another concern. She advised people to skip snacks like meat pies and puff-puff when hungry and make time for healthier meals. According to her, too much snacking can harm internal health.

The pharmacist added that many young people are already in hospitals battling kidney stones and waiting for transplants.

She also warned against holding in urine, saying people should use the restroom as soon as the urge comes.

Exercise mattered too, she said, but added it does not have to mean going to the gym. Playing a favourite song and dancing or jumping for a few minutes, she explained, counts as enough movement.

She ended by saying the advice could help protect kidney health in the long run and thanked viewers for listening.
