Tension is rising in Ode Oriya Village, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State after the community monarch, Mr. Adeniyi Adelana, was kidnapped by suspected gunmen.
The attack happened late on Friday, June 13, around 8:05 p.m., when armed men struck the monarch’s home. Eyewitnesses said about six assailants moved in under the cover of darkness and forcefully took the traditional ruler away.
Villagers watched in shock as the gunmen led Mr. Adelana off through a nearby bush path. The abduction has left residents anxious and uneasy, as they wait for news and hope for his safe return.
