Ilebaye’s father has broken his silence, offering a detailed account of the dispute between them in an audio clip that has circulated online.
Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, who is said to be receiving medical treatment, described how he mobilized support for his daughter during her time on Big Brother Naija All Stars and claimed his efforts helped secure her victory. He told listeners he expected public gratitude—especially toward people from their home state—after her win, but said she refused to acknowledge their support.
“I use my influence seriously to make people… vote massively for my daughter,” he said, adding that governors and colleagues donated money that went toward her participation in the show. “I saw a lot of things going wrong with her when it comes to the issue of appreciating what they did for you when you were in big brother.”
Odiniya also levelled a series of personal accusations against the reality star, saying she has repeatedly disrespected and insulted him and, on some occasions, physically attacked him. He said she once advised him to divorce her mother and alleged that she introduced a younger brother to substance use, which he blamed for disciplinary problems at school.
Explaining the most recent rupture, Odiniya said he asked his daughter to borrow him money for a medical check-up abroad because he lacked funds. He claims she refused, yet soon after was filmed “spraying bundles of money” at a colleague’s wedding. “That is not the problem… if you help your colleagues, what about your father?” he asked in the recording.
The audio has prompted widespread reaction online. Many users condemned any form of violence, saying even if the father’s claims are accurate it would not justify physical assault. Others urged the family to seek resolution, while some criticized the father’s behavior and tone in the recording.
Separately, footage that has circulated previously showed the star making a spectacle of generosity at a nightclub, where she was seen raining $100 bills on fellow former housemate Mercy Eke.
