‘Police Killed Dadiyata In My Presence’ — Ex-Govt. Official Makes Explosive Allegation

Former Zamfara governor aide, Musa Muhammad Kamarawa, has accused two police officers, CSP Hussaini Gimba and CSP Hassan Gimba, of serious misconduct, including alleged involvement in the killing of activist Dadiyata, extortion and illegal searches.

In a petition sent to the Inspector General of Police, Kamarawa said the officers threatened his life during an investigation and warned him against speaking about his links with former Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa.

“They treated me as if I were a target,” Kamarawa said.

He further alleged that the officers threatened to kill him the same way Dadiyata and others were allegedly killed during Operation Yaki in Kaduna.

“I have never disclosed our relationship with him because they threaten to kill me as they killed Dadiyata and Saminu S/Fada Gusau amongst others in my presence at Operations Yaki Kaduna,” he stated.

Kamarawa also said the officers repeatedly questioned him about Bafarawa.

“They kept asking me about my relationship with the former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, and I was told I shouldn’t disclose my connections to him because they were instructed by Matawalle to target him.”

He further claimed that during his detention in November 2021, he was forced to withdraw ₦3.6 million and hand it over to the officers. He also accused them of carrying out an illegal search of his home and taking money, gold and other valuables without proper procedure.

“They carted away my belongings without any legal procedure,” Kamarawa claimed.
