The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects after a coordinated raid on several criminal hideouts in the Igando-Idimu area as part of its ongoing fight against crime across the state.
The operation was carried out under the Command’s Operation KO S’AYE in the early hours of Sunday after credible intelligence linked suspected hoodlums to activities within the Area M axis.
Police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said officers from different formations raided criminal hideouts at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots to drive out criminal elements and improve public safety.
Items recovered during the operation include one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally made double-barrel short gun, 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, two military camouflage uniforms, six generators suspected to have been stolen, assorted charms, substances suspected to be Indian hemp, and other illicit drugs.
Adebisi said all 150 suspects are in police custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine each person’s role in criminal activities.
She added that anyone found culpable will be charged to court after investigations are completed.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, praised the operatives for their professionalism and restated the Command’s commitment to continuing Operation KO S’AYE to dismantle criminal networks and deny offenders safe haven across Lagos.
He also urged residents to keep supporting the police with timely and credible information to strengthen the fight against crime and improve security across the state.
