BREAKING: ‘Repentant’ Bandits Storm Farms, Kill Villagers, Abduct Nearly 20 in Kaduna

Bandits believed to be “repentant” killed an unspecified number of farmers and abducted nearly 20 others during an attack in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday.

A source in Birnin Gwari told SaharaReporters that the attack happened around 11am in Layin Danauta village.

According to the source, the gunmen invaded farmlands north of the village and opened fire on farmers in what was described as a guerrilla-style attack.

The source said seven women and about 15 men were kidnapped, though the figures were still preliminary. Several farmers were also injured, while residents and volunteers continued search-and-recovery efforts late into the night.

SaharaReporters learnt that by 11:30pm, six bodies had been recovered from the scene. Efforts were still ongoing to find other victims, with community sources fearing the death toll could rise.

The exact number of those killed, injured and abducted has not been officially confirmed.
